on laffs and leisure.

wanna hear something a little funny albeit a little overly personal?

so, dan and i live alone on the weekends. from thursday through sunday, we inhabit our home all on our own (except for the dog, but he doesn't count for the purposes of this story). we keep russ monday to thursday in the evening times, but weekends it's just dan and me. so, sunday, we get home from findlay market where we purchased many vegetables for the total sum of just over five dollars, and we intend to watch some arrested development, do some snacking, and (i) set to fold the queen (bed) sized mound of laundry. about a half hour into it, the doorbell rings. it's a pretty aggressive succession of rings. dan and i share unknowing looks, because, who visits us? no one. well, once a neighborhood kid rang our doorbell and we bought exorbitantly priced body wash because we can't say no, but, usually no one is a'ringing our bell. so, dan goes to see who it is, and i tell him, "come back and tell me if i need to put pants on." oh, didn't i mention that i didn't have pants on? well, we live alone, see? why should i feel compelled to wear pants on a sunday afternoon if i live alone with my husband?

i hear dan go to the door. i hear him conversing with someone. i hear him walk back to our bedroom. "you're gonna want to put on pants," he says, "because your parents are here."

so my parents are here! but only on the next two weekends because they're doing a little midwestern parent visiting of their own during the weekstarts, my dad his mum in ohio, and my mum her dad in wisconsin. i am excited to do some ikea coupled with red robin, some yarn shopping so i can finally knit my mom the shrug she asked for probably a year ago, maybe go to the zoo? i don't know, things. i am excited to do things with my parents because they're here! and obviously i will be wearing pants for the next two weeks.

also, i am knitting this fancy scarf in anticipation of the wintertime.
